when i was in kullu , i found this place called hotel vikrant very suited to my liking , initially i found it was mentioned in the lonely planet so i decided to stay there , avery quite, clean , homely place, with a nice view of the surrounding mountains and very helpfull staff , with a small amsterdam style cafe which serves                my favourite food                      and has very nice sitting areas , all in all the river rafting in kullu is the best i have partaken in , and a small hike towards a place called bijli mahadev was also worthwhile, the local cuisine in kullu is also sumptuous , local people are very friendly , although there is no night life but there area few good places to spend your evenings.

I have recently watched a BBC documentary regarding to the pollution present worldwide. I learnt the problem has worsensed as the demand for new infrastructure and technologies is increasing rapidly. It saddens me to see very little action is taken by the government, which could result in serious consequences such as global warming in the future. Being a part of the younger generation, I perceive this as a very determental situation for everyone on Earth. Global warming will undoutebly leave countless long-term harmful side effects to our offspring, leading to more suffering which our next generation does not deserve. Not only will it harm the human race; animals are also killed as a result. Pollution in the ocean destroys coral reefs and many oceanic organisms to a large scale. Hence as time passes, the population and diveristy of organisms in the ocean will also diminish gradually; it horrifies me that one day all the living organisms in the ocean could wiped out completely. Yet no one has taken responsibility for such horrific and blatant act. Being a part of the human race, I feel ashamed for what we have done. If nothing is to be done about this, the beautiful planet we live in will eventually be annihilated without a trace and one that day it will be too late to regret over the terrible actions we have taken to destory the planet we cherish. I am left with an awful feeling about littering and not doing my part to alleviate this big problem plant Earth is facing; from now on I will definitely ensure I will recycle and discover more ways to conserve so I know I care about the planet Earth I reside in.

My mother got sick with Hepatitus A when I was 12 years old and my parents had just gotten divorced. We had just moved to a small town of about a thousand people and we were there because my mother's brother and his family were living there, and with four kids under 12, my Mum wanted some adults around to help her out. So when Mum and Dad split up, we moved to Rosewood.

She contracted Hep A from one of the kids at my brothers' day care centre and was quite sick for about 9 weeks. At the time, my brother Kristian was about 18 months old, Mitchell was about 3 and my sister Ashleigh would have been nearly 11 I think. Mum was bright yellow from jaundice and could barely move without being sick. I reflected recently on the things I learned to do when she was sick, and I was twelve:

I learned to do grocery shopping for five people, and the best way to get all the bags home from the shops, not being able to drive and all. I took my bike and my brother's toy wagon with me, and cycled the groceries home in the wagon. After the first memorable occasion where I hadn't yet realised that the goods were likely to jump out of the wagon whenever we went over a bump, I brought along a bedsheet and some of those stretchy cords, and covered everything up, like one of those Amish covered wagons.
